The quick hits from the General Session | Say Hi to AI: A Chat About ChatGPT & More:
- AI is only as smart as a house cat (for now) - we all have brains that are more powerful than AI
- AI is moving at an accelerated pace in terms of engagement and enhancement. It only took two months to get 100 million users (vs. 16 years for cell phones, 7 years for internet, and 4.5 years for Facebook)!
- For marketers, a key piece to using AI in an ethical way includes understanding copyright laws and properly attributing sources
- When it comes to data security, make sure you know how the models you’re using utilize data. Take caution in using free/public tools with personal and business data. 75% of users are uploading business data without permission (yikes!)
- Keep an open and optimistic mind as advances in AI continue and learn how it can enhance aspects of your life

Captain Sandy Yawn, a super yacht captain, author, businesswoman, and “Below Deck Mediterranean” star was the keynote speaker on the last day of EVMC this year. As a “Below Deck” fan or not, her talk was uplifting and inspiring. Some key takeaways from her include:
- Resilience, restraint, and perseverance and key factors for leadership and success
- Focusing and dealing with one problem at a time is a great strategy for not getting overwhelmed
- Work as a team, not against each other and lead by example
- Look for moments of gratitude over complaining
- Leadership is being someone who people want to follow
- Her parting advice: “Wake up, dress up, show up, kick ass!”

What a great way to close out an outstanding week in Denver! We had a blast celebrating a successful week at tonight’s EVMC Grand Finale party presented by FEVO at Punch Bowl Social.
We’re all heading home to North Carolina bright and early tomorrow, but we can’t wait to discuss all the things we’ve learned and the amazing feedback we’ve received from clients with the rest of the carbonhouse team. Till next year, EVMC!
