Originally built in 1928, the opulent Orpheum in Memphis, Tennessee, closed its doors in 1982 to undergo extensive renovations. Two years later it reopened, rejuvenating the arts in downtown Memphis. Today, the Orpheum is home to Ballet Memphis and Opera Memphis, and it hosts between 10 and 12 touring Broadway productions annually.
